If fruit were people...

Then the lemon would be bitter...
And spiteful,
To the orange he has always aspired to be.

The passion fruit,
(Though deeply in love with the damson in distress)
Would envy the quick-witted sloe.

The raisin would go bananas,
At his brother the grape,
If he went on a date with a melon.

And down at the cocktail bar,
A plum seduces ananas,
Who all have a lovely ripe pear.
